Training Information

SDB are now gunning hard for the season! During in-season training sessions, our training ground (and boats) is always a place of hard work but also of fun. Paddlers, races are not won on race days but at training. We will only win races if we all put in the hard yards.

Our current session times are:

Sunday mornings: Please arrive by 8:15am.
Tuesday Evenings: Please arrive by 6:45pm.
Thursday mornings: Please arrive by 6:45pm.

Please note that, starting this season, we aim to be prompt on the water - and that means our boat does depart on time, like a ferry. If you are running late, please call one of SDB's coaches and let us know. The crew will only come back to pick you up if the training schedule and boat ramp usage allows. Paddlers may be able to train with another team who might hit the water at the time.

Also, if you intend to regularly train, please use the calendar so that we can plan our training sessions accordingly. It also helps us track who has been putting the hard yards in for the crew - and this will determine your position on the crew list!

Training Venue

We train at Bank Street, Pyrmont, underneath the Pyrmont Bridge and near the Sydney Fish Markets. The easiest way to get there would be by car; for those arriving by public transport, it is quite easy to catch the light rail from Central station and alight at either the John Street Square or Fish Markets Stations. Click here for a Google map of the training location.

Public transport information is available via the Transport Info Line on 131-500 or www.131500.com.au

The facilities at Bank Street are among the best in Australia. There are showers and parking available.
